Career Progression:Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Dave applied for and was accepted to South Tyneside College, to undertake a 3 year course working towards an Officer of the Watch (unlimited) qualification.
As part of the course Dave undertook work experience on several voyages with Maersk Shipping. His initial voyage started in Japan, crossed the Pacific Ocean, through the Panama Canal, along the coast of North America before crossing the Atlantic and visiting several ports in Europe before returning to Japan. Since that time he has visited ports all over the world. He is now employed as Third Officer with Shell U.K. working on tankers.
